Crossed Signals

When Love Feels Lost in Translation

Grazel Garcia, Neurodiverse therapy expert at GGPA

ABOUT THE BOOK

ADHD does not just affect the person who has it. It shapes every interaction in the relationship.

Crossed Signals is the first book to bring together the neuroscience of ADHD and the science of attachment through the lens of Emotionally Focused Therapy. Through the stories of four couples, Grazel Garcia reveals the hidden cycle that traps ADHD-affected partners in patterns of pursuit, withdrawal, shame, and loneliness and shows how to break free.

This is not a book about managing ADHD traits or dividing chores more fairly.  The book is about understanding the emotional reality underneath the ADHD and the attachment fears that drive the cycle, the neurobiological forces that accelerate it, and the moments of vulnerability that can finally interrupt it.Written for couples living with ADHD and the therapists who work with them, Crossed Signals offers a framework for healing that honors both the ADHD brain and the human heart.

WHO THIS BOOK IS FOR

For Couples

If ADHD is part of your relationship, whether diagnosed or suspected, in one partner or both, this book will help you see the pattern that keeps you stuck and give you a path toward the connection you’ve both been longing for.

For Therapists

If you work with couples and keep encountering cycles that don’t respond to standard interventions, this book will give you a clinical framework for understanding how ADHD neurobiology reshapes the attachment cycle and how to adapt your approach accordingly.
