Helping ADHD-Impacted Couples Thrive: A Virtual Workshop for EFT Therapists

Scott Avatar

We know that ADHD can shape how couples connect, communicate, and experience intimacy. We also know that it can be hard for therapists to know exactly how to navigate the challenges that come with neurodiverse relationships – especially when traditional interventions don’t seem to work.

That’s why the Orange County Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (OC EFT) is hosting a live virtual workshop on May 3, 2025, designed to equip therapists with the tools they need to adapt EFT interventions for ADHD-impacted couples.

This six-hour training offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of ADHD through the attachment lens, giving you the insight and skills to turn treatment-resistant cases into success stories. No matter your level of experience with Emotionally Focused Therapy, this workshop will expand your ability to meet neurodivergent couples where they are – with affirmation, clarity, and connection.

Who Is This Training For?

This workshop is designed for EFT-trained therapists, counselors, and mental health professionals who want to:

  • Better understand ADHD’s role in attachment behaviors and how it impacts emotional bonding.
  • Adapt EFT interventions to be neurodiverse-affirming, ensuring that ADHD-impacted couples feel seen and supported.
  • Strengthen their ability to de-escalate conflict by recognizing how ADHD-related behaviors can be misinterpreted in relationships.
  • Help neurodiverse couples move through EFT Stage 1 & Stage 2 interventions more effectively.
  • Transform challenging or treatment-resistant cases into success stories.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in session with an ADHD-impacted couple, wondering why your usual interventions aren’t landing – this training is for you.
